Who Lives Around and In the Water Program for Kids Ages 7-10

August 15, 2021 @ 1:00 pm - 3:30 pm

- Free

Join NBLT Environmental Educator, Charlene Wildes on an exploration into a variety of water environments.

She will teach children how each area has different inhabitants and why. Children will be investigating a stream, pond and lake in a beautiful and unique watershed.  They will use nets to collect frogs, tadpoles, newts, aquatic insects and take a look at the Beaver lodge. They will explore these critters and find out what adaptations are needed to live in and around the water.

Children will play a game where they turn into a salamander trying to reach the vernal pool. Then they will create and eat an edible aquifer.

This program will take place at the beautiful Bear Creek Camp.

Thanks to a grant from The Luzerne Foundation, this program is free, includes a snack, book and T-shirt to enhance the learning experience.

This program is limited to 15 kids, so please register early. Registration deadline is August 9.

To register please call the NBLT office at 570-310-1781 or email info@nblt.org. A registration waiver will be emailed and must be completed by a parent or guardian and returned.
