North Branch Land Trust protects more than just land in NEPA. Clean air and water are just as important the soils, trees, and wildlife—because it’s all connected! When the water is healthy, so are the plants, animals, and insects.

About the Educator: Charlene Wildes
My love of nature was formed as I grew up in Maryland on a river off the Chesapeake Bay. Surrounded by water, woods, farm fields and animals, I played and experienced all these wonders. I have been involved with a variety of organizations and held many titles in the last 45 years. Environmental/outdoor educator, watershed specialist, adjunct professor, nature center director, and nature specialist to name a few. My goal has always been to share my love of nature hoping to inspire others. NEPA reminds me of where I grew up, the abundance of forest, variety of animals, rivers, streams, lakes and ponds and the open spaces to experience the beauty of nature. My favorite is working with children, allowing them to experience the wonders that nature offers. They are the future stewards of our world and understanding and appreciating nature is crucial.
