Calling all citizen scientists! Do you love exploring natural habitats? Curious about all the critters around you? Wondering what that fungus is? Join North Branch Land Trust for a Bio Blitz at Hanover Crossings Marsh Preserve!
*
Led by Penn State’s soon-to-be-graduate of Energy and Sustainability Policy, Melissa Lopez, the Hanover Crossings Marsh Bio-Blitz aims to catalog as many species as possible over a two-day period.
*
No prior field experience is required. Participants can attend an optional orientation on September 14th or 15th to learn how to use the iNaturalist or Seek species identification app as well as gain insight into the habitat of the Hanover Crossings Marsh Sanctuary.
*
The Blitz will occur on September 21 & 22 from 9:30 am-5 pm. Participants may attend one or both Blitz dates for any length of time.
*
Participants are asked to bring a device with the Seek/iNaturalist app OR a device capable of taking and sharing clear images of specimens. Please dress appropriately for the weather and be mindful that this marsh is a wetland habitat.
