North Branch Land Trust’s Bare Tree ID Hike will be mild-paced hike through one of NBLT’s preserves, Forest Echo Bird Sanctuary, where participants can expect a knowledgeable forester to guide the way through branches, bark, and other clues that can help you identify trees in Northeastern PA no matter what time of year. Common Tree of Pennsylvania ID books will be given out and participants are encouraged to follow along with their tree guides.

Distance: 0.6 miles
Terrain: Natural unimproved path with some elevation, may be muddy or slippery with weather
Difficulty level: Easy
Trail Parking: Past the Sanctuary signage to the small timber-framed parking area near the Old Wishing Well
Attire/Gear: Prepare for January weather with a coat, hat, scarf, and gloves for extra protection against cold weather. Sneakers or hiking boots, are preferred.
Water bottles are suggested.
There is no cost to attend this event, but registration is required due to limited parking.
